Default can late strut mounts be rebuilt?

In my earlier post, I included some pictures of the strut mounts. The seals on the bearings have disintegrated, and the grease is effectively gone. Has anyone ever cleaned and repacked the bearings? If so, where can you get seals? The remainder of the mount appears fine, so it would be useful to keep these.

If not, what are best recommendations for replacement? I looked at Ground Control units, they appear to be fairly nice.

Yes you can rebuild them with THESE>> http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ky.../fox/year/1990

You just press out the old bearings out of your mounts and then press these in, they come pre greased. I am running them.

Does anyone have more detail on this? Is the metal hat (counterweighted in the late 968) removable and then the big rubber blob replaceable?

Joel,

the answer to rebuild (unless hearing differently from XSChop) is that they are not rebuildable. The rubber is vulcanized to the metal plate, those are one piece. The bearing appears to be pressed in, then staked to prevent it from moving within the mount. If it could be pressed out, I suppose in theory it could be replaced with a new bearing, but I'm not sure if it could be reseated to stay in place. I guess that is why KLA and others are making money selling their solid mounts with the spherical bearings. I don't plan on doing many autocrosses or track days, so I am more interested in having good nvh for street driving.
