Well I think it's fair to say that the 951, with all that underhood piping, hoses and heat, plus the turbocharger itself, is less reliable on balance. Also the 951 has the skinny timing belt and lacks the constant tension system of the 968. You will read about people who drive the 951 without a breakdown, sure, but seriously no. It's unrealistic to think it's going to be more reliable than a naturally aspirated counterpart that has a few updates in the bargain.

Joel, I agree with you that their will be more maintainence on a 951, however I feel it is on par with the other models as far as reliability if taken care of properly.

Jfrahm, ill give you that. There is definitely more in there to go wrong but I haven't had any of the reliability problems that people talk about with 951's. With that said, I know mine was well taken care of before I bought it and since then, so maybe my case is an exception to the rule
