Default suspension question

So I installed front springs on my 1986 951, 220lb 1" drop I believe, When I ordered them it said I need another part which was a spacer, I have it all installed but the car doesn't look lower, Should I remove the spacer??

From what I've read the spacer returns you to original ride height. You would have to remove the spacer to lower the car.

I was thinking of 220# springs myself. Do you find a big difference over stock?

I've only drivin it 3 times with the new springs, then I started pulling the turbo, It's almost all done, But from the 3 times I drove it after the suspension upgrade, It feels real nice, It's stiffer in the corners but not soo stiff on the road that your rocking your teeth out, so it's a good balance

On my old 924S I had KYB's all around along with stiffer 200 lb front springs and new bushings up front and the car I thought handled great. I can't wait to get to the front suspension on my car. I just haven't had the money to do it.

I have never seen that spacer thing? I belive it's prupose is to keep the spring in it's pocket when the supenshion is unloaded ie over bumps and such and most likely to also rise ride height if your car is to low? If height is not a problem. then I belive what you want is this:

http://www.paragon-products.com/2_5_...cs100-2.25.htm

They came with my coil over kit and I need to get them for my other cars. They keep the spring in place and have no effect on ride height.

As mentioned above, the spacer is used only if you do not want to lower the car. If you do want to lower it, remove the spacer.

The CS100 helper spring referenced above is used with 2.5" I.D. springs so that wont have an application here.

Are the fronts 2.25 ? Oh Jason Hi! My 944 NA and 951 Have tons of your stuff on them all without issue thanks.
And not to get off topic I have MO30 DbAdj on the font of my 951 which helper springs do I need for the front?

When I have to jack the car up (which is often on the 951!) I have to play around with the spring seat when I sit the car back down. The helper springs would keep the spring seated I would assume?

And to the OP yes you can run it without the space but the spring will shift around if you jack the car You can reseat if you can of giude it into position as you lower the but it's kinda of a hassel.

I think Hyper coil or is it Hyper spring , makes the 2.25 helper spring?

We normally convert the M030 strut to run 2.5" ID spring so you'll need:

http://www.paragon-products.com/Stac...hy-18ds100.htm
although some folks will not use the divider

Yes sir, that's correct.

With the Weltmeister springs, that's not usually an issue. You'll notice that one end of the spring is pretty tightly coiled and most of those coils go into coil bind when the car is on the ground.

Wow your good! The MO30's on the 951 are the one's that move when I jack the car up and the Welt's on the 85.5 N/A don't move! Thanks for the P/N's

sorry to revive an old thread but i noticed this was the case on my car with the Welt 200# lowering springs.
ive had them for years and years but never really looked at them...

if the tighter coils are binding with the car just sitting on the ground it makes a full third of the spring "solid"...kind of a strange design??
