Default 968 rear hatch

I have a 92 968 coupe in Houston. My rear hatch is creaking at the top left hinge point. Not the hinge but the glass is starting to separate from the metal frame near the hinge.

Two questions-

Will a 944 rear hatch glass and frame be a suitable replacement for my hatch- of course I will want to change over the 968 wing and side trim pieces instead of the rubber 944 spoiler. The real question is, are the glass, frame, hinges and lockposts all compatible from a late 944 to a 968. I have some indication that they are because I saw that someone had replaced their 944 hatch with a 968 hatch and seemingly had no problems. If they are compatilble I am sure I stand a much better chance of getting a replacement from a 944 than a 968

Is there a repair procedure for resealing the hatch?

the hatch will physically fit but the wing will not bolt to the 944 hatch since it does not have the brackets
welded to the frame that the original one does. You can make it work, but if you can get the hatch reglued you are better off.

- actually i take that back, the wing and trim will all bolt on but the center trim under the wing will not.

Sorry to hear about your separating hatch. It's a common problem, unfortunately.

I hate to bash a new user, but if you would just try a search (click on search, go to advanced search, and select this forum) with the terms "hatch reseal", "hatch separating", etc... you will find dozens of threads on the topic. There are many ways of dealing with this problem, from cheap to expensive, and they're all well documented.

Here are two that I like:
