I drive an 85.5 every day as my daily driver with almost 300,000 miles. After reading this thread I am now praying that my engine gives out instead of keeps going, so I can too become a part of the Por-vettes club!!!
I can't wait to do a swap like this...

One question I do have is, how would it be as a daily driver? I drive between 60-100 miles a day and love every minute of it in my Porsche now. Also, what kind of gas mileage are you guys getting? Again, I drive a lot. Thanks!

Also, don't go too crazy loud with the exhaust, the exhaust noise is the first to wear you out. I ended up setting up my exhaust going from dual 2.5" into a 3" Y, into a Magnaflow muffler where the stock cat is, and another muffler at the rear. I have since removed the rear muffler to add some more sound, but that introduced drone around 1800-2000RPM, but that will be fixed soon with an addition of a helmholtz/quarter wave resonator (a quick tip to the V8 guys, a quarter wave chamber that is 28" long tends to take out that drone perfectly).

Here is a quarter wave example (they call it a j-pipe setup):

A nice setup would include adjustable pipe length just to truly dial it all in.

And a helmholtz example:

When done right, the drone just disappears. I've been wanting to do this for ages now, but haven't had a reason to. It's nice to see that some have discovered it and implemented it successfully.
that's really cool...if one were available (or i had time for the math) for a 944 i'd buy it today.
