Old post but that bolt is a T27... Not T30. I know this because I had the same issue and tried a T27 and it fit much deeper in the bolt head and did the job.

Good for you, Accrorad on the torx trick with the soldering iron. I was going to suggest slotting the head with a dremel and trying to use a standard screwdriver to remove it. Or just oblitering it with a drill bit/s until you could remove the airbag unit. Then remove the remaining post with vise grips or pliers.
