is it possible to repair them? i shaped the rod at the end where the two hooks are :(

Sentinelist 01-23-2012 01:33 AM

I have one with broken tabs on the ends, but good fabric, roll and holder. Not sure what it would cost to ship, but PM me if you're interested.

I have a tan one...will sell it cheap!

I assume you meant snapped... meaning the plastic rod at the rear of the cover..

if so, then yes.. I replaced mine with aluminum, and replaced the screws with rivets..

Yes where the two hooks that latch to the rear of the car

I can either make you one, or PM you the measurements (tonight) to fit one... basicly I duplicated the origional piece out of aluminum bar stock, and drilled holes large enough to accept pop rivets in place of the screws that hold the hooks to the plastic piece...

I also replaced the end caps with end caps from Joe Jackson..

Butters944 01-23-2012 08:26 PM

Don't joe jackson caps cost megabucks?

thirdgenbird 01-23-2012 08:28 PM

ive got a black one in the closet. last i looked it was fully functional.

Butters944 01-23-2012 08:55 PM

People have so many of these... Hell if there's multiple for sale on this thread, for cheap, I'll take one

They aren't cheap, but after a second set of OE plastic ones I needed something better!

Is it possible to get these anymore or are they NLA? I would like to get a brown one for my '83, if they even make them for that year.
