Koni yellows - where do you have yours set?

I just got the Koni's in and will be installing next week. Since the rears have to come off to adjust, I was wondering where you guys have yours set. The car will mainly be driven to school, but will also be autocrossed and we are planing on doing a DE next spring. I was thinking 3/4 of the way to hard, but wonder if it will be too hard. The car has Koni yellows but they appear original (115K) so I know they are shot. TIA.

That's odd... I've been running Koni's on 8 different cars over the past 12 years... I've had access to a shock dyno, and have checked my shocks for the past 5... I have never had a pair of NEW pair of shocks with any appreciable difference... Where are you seeing an issue Robstah? I'd wager the guys at Koni would like to know....

I run mine full soft

I had my Koni yellows at 1/2 way to hard when I lived in Memphis. Now that I live somewhere with worse roads, I keep them at full soft. Halfway to hard felt balanced at autox (car has 220lb springs and 26.8/19 sways).

I've never liked the feel of Konis on a streetable car, I find the valving too severe for regular (up to 250#) springs. Even the non-adjustable Konis seem harsh, the adjustable need to be full soft to even

...have any ability to control a >250# spring. I stick to sachs/boge on a street car and koni or bilstein on track spring rates if funds won't stretch to KW or Motons.

I have them set to one turn from full soft. They're paired with 225# front springs and 27mm torsion bars on stock sways.

When I got the car they were set to full soft. At that setting the rear would wallow on freeway overpasses, but the front was stable. I tried them stiffer than one turn but the comfort suffered and the car felt like it was constantly being pushed by every small irregularity in the road.

IIRC the workshop manual states that they're matched from the factory, although that may mean they're matched left to right per car. When I removed them for adjustment, my five finger shock dyno :) seemed to indicate they're still matched after 105k miles of use.

I have mine set for 1 notch below full stiff and for the most part they are not bad.

I run mine full stiff, I like to feel what im driving on haha
Also these crazy FL drivers you never know when you need to do a quick direction change
