Default Sway bar question

When you measure the rear sway bars with a pair of calipers are they slightly oversized? Ie. 16.3mm measured = the 16mm bar, the 18.3mm = the 18mm bar and 19.3mm = the 19mm bar?

The reason I ask is because I just got an 18.3mm bar which was sold as a 19mm. I'm wondering if this could be a mistake or if it actually is a 19mm and the bars vary that much in diameter?

my 18mm bar measures 17.8mm between the center hump and the curve to the wheel. i had a 19mm bar recently and it was visibly larger.

does your bar have just one hole on the end? 19mm will have either 3 or 5 holes on the end for adjustability.

It only has one hole either end, but I was told by the seller that this was a 19mm bar which was a special order from Porsche when the donor car was new. I assume this must have been before they made the 19mm 3-hole adjustable bars for the 968.

Nevertheless, I still think I've been sold a standard 18mm bar due to a misunderstanding. Do the bars have identification numbers stamped on them somewhere?

I'll see if I can get my buddy with a 19mm bar to put the calipers on his and see its measurement.

My 19mm rear bar measures approx. 19.3mm. The 18mm I have measures 18,28. However they have both been powdercoated red...

Nice!
Thanks for helping out. Sounds like the bar I got is an 18mm. It would be great if anyone else could confirm this.
