My 944 Turbo Is gonna be a track ready car and I want the extra performance, so the cat delete is staying. I want it to sound deep and not raspy at all. Anybody have any ideas?

A friend of mine with a 510 with a 4cyl L20B with a cat delete (which are usually raspy and loud)but has a exhaust that makes it sound deep like a V8 almost, no rasp at all. He has a generic flowmaster. He says that the more fins inside the better because it will muffle out the rasp. "Thats how Bose speakers work, and how they sound so good" apparently.

Can anyone back up this theory, and what exhaust set ups have you guys done and what results? Any one seen that the intake makes a difference? Thanks

Got a Fabspeed system w/cat delete about a year ago. Posted a review here:

Loved it and still do.

Anybody have a 944 turbo with a cat delete and STOCK muffler? My car is far from running and Im curious if anyone has it and knows what it sounds like, deep or raspy?
I'm currently running a 3" test pipe, cat delete w/ WG tie in and the stock catback. A little bit louder than stock, turbo spool is MUCH louder Its not bad, but only temp until I get my Borla XR1 cat back welded up.
