Default Expansion Valve with External Equalizer

My AC journey continues...

I ordered an expansion valve from zims and received a piece that has an external equalizer. The one I took off of my car didnt have one. Can I use this piece and if so, where do I connect the extra connection for the equalizer? My research shows that I cannot just plug this connection.

Here is the link to the part I ordered.

Here is the part I received (new part on top, old part on bottom):

I'm guessing I just need to return this part to zim's.

Thanks,
Ross

that would have to go on the suction line just outside of the evaporator- better luck buying the correct part though i would think. Why not just get a good used one? I dont think they wear out that much from what ive seen.

I would assume that the port on the low side after the evaporator doesn't exist? If not, i have no interest in tapping into the line and creating one. Finding a new one seemed easier than a used one, especially when the new one is only 30$.

Talked to Zims today. They confirmed it was the wrong part (even though the mfr says it was correct part) and I will be returning it. Apparently the company that made the aftermarket valves no longer makes them without the external equalizer. Zims called around and found a new supplier for the part, made the purchase (they only had a couple left) and put my name on one of them. Top notch service there!

Can the equalizer be removed and the valve function properly after? Need a new valve, Oreilly has them for $25 but their picture shows the equalizer..

I did...the link provided is the wrong year for my car, and the correct one listed by Zims is almost $100. I will mod the $%^& out of something if it saves me $75 and will still work properly.

*edit* Looks like not doable.
