Could a lifter loose the keepers?
Did something fall into the flywheel and jam it?
Is the Starter selonoif frozen out?

Just ideas

Good point John,

There is a large hole on the top LH (Drivers side) of the Bellhousing.. I have heard Ground wire bolts have fallen in there... Or the starter. is a good one also, Have you pulled the starter out yet? Perhaps it never retracted, and was spinning with motor till it seized up?

Good luck. Remember to post what you find out!

The starter has been out the whole time. Had to push it to get it to start in the first place.

The oil light flickering leads me away from this line of thinking. That and I bought it knowing it had a knock/ tap from the engine already.
