What would someone expect to pay for a non cracked late Non airbag dash ?

I am not looking to sell, but I may be looking to buy one in the near future.

Why not just recover your own for a fraction of the price. It will look better than a non-crack dash too.

If the vinyl is bonded to the foam, recovering would be a pain. Is it bonded?

I wanted to do that as well but decided to recover mine...cost less than a mint dash and I was concerned a mint old dash would just crack again

classic 9 will recover your dash in vinyl for $750.

That $750 Vinyl Dash ends up costing close to $1,000 with shipping both ways, and you still have a vinyl dash to crack on you. I bought a used Dash with two very very small cracks in the defroster vents. I have used LEXOL Leather Conditioner and the Dash is soft as new now. Armour All will dry the vinyl out and make it crack faster. A full Leather Dash Cover will need the LEXOL treatment at least every two weeks in the hot summer months to keep the THIN leather soft and flexible or it to will crack.

FWIW, for a price point, I know of a local-ish partial leather non airbag factory dash.. $200...

I will eventually meet up with him and be picking it up, along with anything else in his storage unit that catches my eye!

very true on the extended price with shipping and core. i was just gonna pull my dash and drive it up there and drop it off and take a dash that's already been recovered.

I've got a perfect condition airbag dash out of a 94 968. Black top half, linen bottom half. Could be dyed easily. PM me if you're interested...

All of the dashes are turning to dust. Getting a good used one will just leave you up chocolate creek without a Popsicle stick later down the road. I also dont like the idea of tearing ass to get the dashboard out, only to send it to some guy who charges more than I paid for the car to recover it.

There must be a better recovery option. We can put a man on the moon but we cant stop a damn dash crack.

This was already done 3 years ago. Best $30 I ever spent on my old car. :evilgrin:

I have a spare dash sitting around, and some of the high end vinyl.. maybe I need to give it a go!

The vinyl on the old dash is more like a heat molded plastic. There is no fabric backing on it like a real vinyl. I stripped mine filled the cracks and put the recover kit on from Rob Bud and it looks great. The kit comes with a thin medium density foam that glues down to the orignial foam then you glue the cover on to the new foam. The dash now has more of a modern feel and look that bends well with the rest of the car. It costs about $300 and takes a day to do.
