One of the first cars I remember lusting over was the 968 club sport and turbo s. Years later I've got a 924s with club sport style modifications. Now I need turbo s power

got some work done yesterday! i installed a new seat belt on the driver's side front. now i feel as though i can safely operate the car, lol. the old belt was limp and frayed.

i also installed a new washer pump. i pumped all of the old washer fluid out. it smelled like rotten sea water. i then cleaned out the tank and refilled it with fresh washer fluid.

Not a lot of updates thus far. This summer I plan to put more money into my 944 while also searching for an early 944 S with the manhole cover wheels to play with.

I think the first thing I want to address is the speedometer. Its plagued me for ages and its high time I replace it. It reads nowhere close to the actual speed I'm going and squeaks like an animal. I also want stiffer rear shocks and hope to locate the plastic inserts for the door handles as well as a silver 944 badge for the rear of the car. If I can locate a torque tube, that and will be replaced as well. And hopefully I can paint the car by fall as well.

Next step this coming week is to order some body seals.

Installed a set of KYB shocks on the rear today to replace the dead shocks that were on the car. I also installed a newly used speedometer. Reads way more accurate than the old original one. Its about 5 mph too fast. I can live with that Overall I'm pleased with the work. The car is spending the night in the garage. Kicked the 84 Corvette out for the night.

While I was skimming I noticed you said your wipers were freezing? Did you ever fix it? My windshield wipers stop where you stop them, no automatic dropping back down. Is that what yours did?

Actually, its been floating around between guys at the police station and some of the fire department guys. Not one person I've asked has disliked the book. I thought it was great!

Keith, the issue with my wipers was poor contact with the fuse to the fuse panel. once I cleaned that connection and installed a new, tighter fuse, the wipers worked normally.

Got a newly used 944 badge for the rear of the car in the mail today. I installed it and could not be happier! Makes the rear of the car look so much better than a faded "44" logo whereas the 9 snapped off years ago.

Got what was left of the logo off:

Got the area cleaned and prepped and installed the new badge:

Ordered a new speedometer cable and steering column bushings. When those arrive next week, I'll be able to fix my non functioning speedometer and the up and down play in my steering column.
