Contemplating electric power steering upgrade.
Will have to do a clutch change eventually...if not taking any big trips, will try to change the clutch.

('94 968)

1) Drive it. Purchased Dec. 2011 and finally registered Sep. 2013.

2) Look for a DE as soon as I get new brake pads.

Projects for winter 2013 and 2014: (as funds allow)

1) New timing belt et al.
2) New front brake pads
3) Recalibrate the speedometer and repair odometer
4) New clutch
5) New 3" exhaust (from the downpipe back)
6) Resolve the radio power issue

I hope that I'll be able to do 4 and 5 at the same time but funding may necessitate 5 to later.

Also, the sound system shall be upgraded... drastically.
None of this crap ever happened. Ended up spending a WHOLE LOT of time in Russia and Europe. Car nickel and dimed me during the summer while I was in the US. I'm still trying to figure out if I'll even have time to put the fabspeed exhaust on it this month. If I had thought ahead then Rougeant would be configuring my DME by now and I'd have a M-tune on the way.

I have rotting reference sensors to replace. I need to replace my DME temp sensor and fuel pump check valve. Oh, and now it's been "4" years and 7kmi since the last timing belt/water pump change... so that also needs to be done. Yipeeeeeee.

Oh, and go back into the sunroof shenanigans so I can put my Saratoga on... it's still in the box.

Good thing I bought Rufus...

Aren't sunroof shenanigans supposed to be on the routine maintenance list?

You know, it's only a matter of time before it decides to go out of alignment again and strip the gears, even if you never open the darn thing.

Hi all first post here (at last)! I figured this was a good place to start because this is what I am planning on doing (and am currently working on) on my recently aquired 97 944S.

Doing most major bits like water pump, belts, fuel lines, any perished rubber bits, some wiring, shifter, and whatever else is broken. So far I have done the fuel pump, filter, shifter, rear fuel lines, and chain pads. This will be getting on the road soon I hope then on the track after that.

I also gave my wife a blue 1983 944 that needs more work and I have the engine out waiting for me to finish the S.

Oh I will make sure, somehow, it doesn't do that again. My issue right now is the mounting of the gearboxes, and the fact the mounting ear for the main tube going into the driver's box broke off as soon as I dry-ran it the first time.

Schönes Deutche Gründlichkeit mit diesem scheiß RHOR.

Replacing my cracked dash with one that is no cracked bought on ebay.

Installing a Saratoga top.

Lots of little things like getting the driver's side door alarm circuit to work again and put in a fob system.

waiting for the next big chunk of change to put in the car....

but plenty of time to post more Odurandina Files....

today's entry: our favorite Breitbart moment of the JFK Assassination....

....Kilgallen claimed that she was under surveillance which led to a theory that she might have been murdered. She reportedly had told a few friends after her interviewing Jack Ruby that she was 'about to blow the JFK case sky high.'

the last words in her final newspaper column's entry reads:

"That story isn't going to die as long as there's a real reporter alive, and there are a lot of them alive."

the CIA goons got her and her collaborator a few days later.
