Since both of mine are drop tops they generally only see sunshine because they are for driving top down. But they get driven in the rain since you never know when the "isolated" or "scattered" thunderstorms/showers are going to hit your particular area on any given day.

I definitely drive in the rain.

It's alot of fun to drive in the wet, you can really learn your steering and pedal inputs ! I like sand too . Actually.

I avoid driving them in rain for many reasons, none of which are that they are too precious or will melt:

1. They are mainly for pleasure cruises and I rarely go anywhere fun in the rain.
2. My Porsches are in the garage so if its raining I don't want to take the extra time opening the garages
and closing them, etc. Its easier to quickly jump into a car that's outside.
3. Accidents and slow traffic seem to correlate with rain in these here parts.
4. I am the car washer in my family of 6 cars. I try to minimize car washing.

If I do take a Porsche out in the rain, and I do, its the one that is most due for a wash. Each has had its turn on "wet duty".

If I've spent the time to actually wash the car, I try to avoid getting it dirty, or wet, but since that idea usually ends in failure, once its dirty I jave no qualms about driving it in the rain. Sometimes I drive it in the rain just to get it clean!

Driving on the track in the rain? priceless

Once it's running again, the 951 will be my DD, so it'll get wet. I'm so glad that Armor All came out with their "Tire Protectant" spray... brake dust practically disappears when it rains! (on my other cars at least)

Sorry, that's the only picture I have. That was my first race in 2003.
