Default PS hose replacement help

While I don't expect to fix all of the fluid leaks I would like to fix the worse one I have. See picture (sorry iphone quality) the small PS hose that runs between the hard lines seems to be leaking from both sides.

I removed the fender liner and the bracket that was in the way so now I have access the the offending little hose. What is the best way to replace the hose? What parts / how to?

Any help is much appreciated.

Mark

That hose is crimped onto the rear most hardline.. it is the pressure return hose from the power steering rack, the hard line section of it runs across the car to the PS rack gearbox / valve assy..

You may be able to get a local shop to replace the hose portion, as the replacement line is over $100...

I took all my rubber PS lines to a local shop almost 2 weeks ago, and am still waiting to get them back...

What is the part number? What does it replace?

Thanks

Cut the crimp off with a dremel. Remove rubber section, find same size hose that will handle ATF fluid, replace hose, use new hose clamps. Problem solved. No need to have the line crimped, it will work just fine.

You will have a mess, so get some cheap cat litter to soak up the ATF Fluid.

Cheers,

This will be the route I go if my Hydraulics guy can get it finished soon... as all my lines were elaking (crimp in his pic on my car had been replaced with an aeroquip quick connect... that was pissing fluid...)

My main issue is the number of miles I drive, and the desire to only have to do this line swap once, while I have everything else pulled apart!

OH, and that line is P/N 944.347.449.06, and is a one piece line from the clamp in your picture to the banjo bolt connection on the PS rack. it is the hard line that mounts to the top of the crossover under the motor.

I think I will go the hose and clamp route for now and watch it.

Anyone know the size of the hose I need so I can get the replacement before I take the old one off. I usually only have a few hours on Saturdays to wrench so if I have everything I need in advance its allot better.

Thanks for ongoing help.

I need to fix this hose as well. However mine is leaking on the steering rack end. It has tight 180 bend in it and I don't know that can get a straight hose to do that.

Has anyone been able to repair that other end?

Find a local hydraulics shop and talk to them about fabricating a new line.. they should have, or can get everything needed...

I went to 3 different shops in my area, and only 1 took on my PS hoses. The hose section at the rack wasn't "right", so I did what any fool would do and ordered the OEM lines. I hate spending $$ on stuff like that, but I couldn't make it work.
