i think Brett was really decent about it and blames himself more so than the car for not doing some more research on it

US version of top gear is hard to watch. they try too hard to mimic the UK presenters, and it just doesn't come off well because they aren't funny or anything.

i watched one episode once where they interviewed tim allen, and he was talking a lot about all his old muscle cars. it was a very boring interview cause it seemed like the fat dude with glasses didn't know a thing about cars. he just sat there and nodded his head.

yeah, the US version is pretty lame...they basically just do everything...down to the "Stig" the same as the UK show, and not as well. I don't know why they didn't try their own format out...mix it up a bit...it's hard for me to watch. I've recorded a few but I just zoom through until they show a good driving part...

I am thinking the same thing, that guy doesn't appear to know ANYTHING he just seems to read off of what is on his paper.

Its natural that the first episodes will be slow and lack energy and interest. Give it time, they will find their chemistry, get more interesting and be more entertaining. And maybe the fat guy will do some homework and read about cars.

have to agree with above if Aussie top gear is any thing to go by. Started out very poorly but some staff changes, some time, and its a lot better.

Top Gear is the number one watched show globally but to be able to screen it you have to make a local version, as part of the deal. No doubt top gear USA will get better but it took Aussie one a couple of seasons to stop being top gear UK clones and become half decent

peace

They were originally going to have Adam Carola as one of the hosts for top gear US... He would have been great, the next best thing to Jeremy Clarkson

I do watch top gear US just for that fact that I like cars. I agree with everyone here though, there is much room for improvement. I wonder what the the hot trucker chick from IRT is doing now. The big ***** she had to drive those roads in India, that babe is the real thing.

the chick from Fifth Gear, Vicki Butler would have also helped Top Gear america. yeah, Adam Carolla, Vicki Butler, and that Trevor whateverhisnameis would have been a solid base to make a car show here in the states.

she's a natural with cars... btw, this car is the inspiration for my slow-going 968 project.

(even though my car will never be a convertible).

Yeah. He definitely didn't 'trash' the 944...
