Those $%^* instrument bulbs
I am at my wits end on how to get these darn little wedge base instrument light bulbs out. It's almost impossible to get a hold of the little sucker. Yes, some of them are in the twist on base, that's easy, just buy replacements that are already in the twist on base. But there are a few, such as the fan switch bulb that you can't replace the base and bulb.
So, how has anyone successfully removed the wedge base bulbs?

They just come straight out, you pluck them out with your thumb and index finger.
If you're really having a hard time, you can use small pliers with the jaws wrapped in duct tape. Don't squeeze too hard. Well if all else fails, just break the old one and pull out the shards with pliers, then you can put the new one in gently.

I wish it were that easy. It's like the buggers are welded in or something!
