Some of his cars were quite tasty. I feel sorry for gemballa company, it was around for a long time.

For Realsies?

The Uwe Gemballa saga came to a crashing end, with tales of Russian money laundering and a tryst with an assassin. But this car of his is almost a high water mark in opulence, especially when contrasted with the gothic rat rod (was recently on Eugene, OR CL).

To be honest, it's just so ridiculous, with the truth being this is a 1986 NA (Hello? VIN on the interwebs?) with a 50k interior and the best set of brakes I have ever seen on a transaxle. I really wonder what is under the hood.

Goodbye Uwe, you left your mark and this is testament to your style.

Thats funny stuff right there. Maybe the red one makes the car disappear when it sees another Porsche coming down the road.

Don't get too excited, the car was photoshopped in.

The Mercedes rocker switches actually match pretty well, though I'd be interested in why this car has them for raising the ride height for snow chains, and one for traction control...

Wow. I haven't seen this car in person, but I HAVE seen another Gemballa 944, done up just about as far. It was in the parking lot of a Best Buy. Black, no front bra thing, but a lot of the other interior apointments (minus the cut wheel with all the switches and yellow 'carbon fiber' vinyl) and with maybe 50% as many colours.

There must be more of them out there.

I guess you would want to keep an extra clip or 2 in the door pocket if you plan to use the rear hatch area.

Looks like they managed to screw up a Cayanne as well. Bad enough that they made the TopGear Fail list

It reminds me of this. This car has a 931 header panel and hood, a 951 lower front bumper a full roll cage and this modified hatch. I'm not a fan of the color or the hatch, but WTF was he thinking with the spoiler and the cage? this car will never touch a track I'm sure. I just don't get it.

They sure want you to think it will. This sure looks like proof, doesn't it? After all, name a race track that doesn't have a large tree in the middle of its long straights...
