WRT galvanized steel, my car at 2490 still has all its steel - bumpers, hood, fenders, etc. It also still all its glass (no lexan) and original dashboard, but seat is Recaro SPG. No carpet, no sound insulation, but roll cage has been added. Per Cup car model option, there is no rustproofing, no ac, no leather, crank windows, no sunroof, no power steering.

70lbs just for the hood. A fiberglass hood is less than 10.

Good question. I'm not sure, but my car was one of 31 (or 32) factory Cup models for the 1986 Canadian Rothmans Challenge and there were some option delete items to cut weight. Rustproofing? Extra wiring?

I'd like to take more weight off the front i.e. bumpers, hood, etc. but I'm limited under spec rules on what I can do. A fiberglass hood is not allowed.

late cars are just fat all around...

my early has a full interior, AC, all glass and steel, radio, spare tire, jack+tools etc.

i removed some things that were broken like power sunroof, power steering, windshield washers and other things...~2700 without me but with a 1/2 tank (weight taken before my crash, will be lighter after repairs completed)

sorry should have added: 15" phone dials, full interior, powersteering, a/c, sunroof delete, full tool kit, compressor and spare tyre, no driver.

the scales actually read in lbs (for use with C130's) and are +/- 1lb, but I had converted the figures to KG some 3 yrs ago. Everyday life here is metric.

[edit] you guys have me curious though, i have 16" fuchs, uprated swaybars so i might reweigh.

I have a 82 car or 83 whatever. And without sounds denting stuff under the carpet, spake tire and jack and me. And half a tank of gas I weighed at the local dump @ 2650 and I have all my interior and everything is stock. Except 951 Fuchs, rear euro valance, and fiberglass side skirts. My numbers are alittle different then your guys so I'm going to soon to see again.

Also I don't think these cars are heavy at all. I beat my friends prelude in a race and he has 190hp but he weighs 4300lbs . But then again my car is chipped and had exhaust and a 86 motor if that makes a difference.

I really don't care what they weigh they are just too beautiful to care. Haha
