Default Exhaust Manifold Question

I don't want my two front teeth I want a set of cast iron manifolds for Christmas. My 86 stock 2.5 N/A has a crack in the steel manifolld (1-4 pair on the #4 leg). Have decided to replace with a set of cast iron. But I have a couple of questions.

First-are the manifolds "year specific" or will any N/A set fit any N/A year? The parts list does not specifically specify or I missed it.

Second-In the past (wow that sounds like a long time ago doesn't it) removing material on the inside to even the size of all the ports and polishing the inside to reduce drag on the exhaust was the thing. What is the trick setup on cast iron these days?

Merry Christmas.
