Default Washer fluid container

Are the containers the same for the 944 as the Turbo? I have a 86 944 Turbo with headlight squiters as well. I filled up my fluid container and some leaked out. I'm pretty sure its cracked. Does anyone know if the are compatible or do I have get a turbo one? Could I fix the leak myself with some JB weld or something?

How hard is it to remove?

1. Not entirely sure about that; I think all late model tanks have the 2nd mounting spots for the HL washers pump

2. Mine was cracked and I tried evry kind of epoxy, JB, whatever. The tank is some form of polyethylene which is "oily", I gave up and got a clean used tank for about $30 on eBay.

3. It's no treat to remove, you drop it out the bottom, but takes some wiggling and cursing.

I think I have one that may be from an early turbo. It is different from my late tank. If you want, I can take a photo.

if you aren't concerned by a repaired tank, i might recommend using gorilla glue. it foams up and lasts a long time and would work if you made sure to fill the crack and make sure it's just how you want it until it is totally dry, using rubber bands to hold it firmly together ie.

I used a soldering iron to weld the crack in mine.

And I used silicone caulking. It's probably not gonna be seen so whatever works that will stick to the plastic.

I have several used washer reservoirs from various 944s and 951s that I would be willing to part with. I know for certain that I have at least one for an '86 951 with headlight squirters. PM me if interested

it is entirely possible the tank isn't cracked, rather the grommet at the base of the pump is dry rotted...

Pull the reservoir first before ordering a new one.. the one you have CAN be repaired if it is cracked, but it might not be cracked at all...

Where do you get the gromment at? Autohoze would they have it? I just picked up a spare tank from the junkyard.
