Default another P/S problem

hey, i couldnt find anything when i searched so here it is. ive had a power steering leak for a while now but just recently when i start the car up, aside from the grinding noise when i turn the wheel, it also spits out P/S fluid from the reservoir. the fluid is supposed to lower but mine rises and spits out the overflow hole. its also foamy and bubbly until it settles down. what could cause the fluid level to rise?, pressure somewhere? thanks for all the help

There isn't an "overflow hole". Sounds like you are missing the cap to your PS reservoir.

It gets "foamy and bubbly" when the fluid level is low. (Which would not be surprising if you don't have a cap.)

Has anybody put some PS antileak or conditioner in your system?. This could cause foaming

Only ATF--automatic transmission fluid --dexron II/III ------nothing else in the PS unit/reservoir.

I would flush the entire PS system and replace the fluid.

There's a hole on the side of the cap. I never saw it until it started coming out of it so I can see how you wouldn't knownit was there. And why would I drive around without a cap? Haha
thanks for the input tho and for the p/s fluid I don't think 944 s can use it at all it has to be ATF. Correct me if I'm wrong

I improved my previous post to eliminate the confusion.

ATF only, no stop leak, no additives, nada..

I've been told that this is the result of the return line from the pump to the reservoir leaking... I don't really get that, but that's what I've heard. Either way, mine is doing it too, and I don't like it. Hopefully someone knows definitively. I'd really like to know...
