Default V8 conversion for sale, interesting body

No affiliation. I kinda like the hood flip, but not much else. It's an LT1 with some interesting mods, but NA transaxle.

I just can not see paying $4000 for it, putting another $3000 in paint and who knows what else. Pretty soon you have $8000 or more into it. Why not just get a 951 or 968.

If you were going to do a V8, it <<could>> make sense, maybe at a negotiated lower price. He's had it on CL for a couple weeks already. I talked to him, the LT-1 has an aftermarket ECM that gets rid of the optispark in favor of 4 coil packs. The way I look at it, for the V8, the conversion pieces, radiator, and who knows what else, the car might be worth a look to someone thinking of going that way. The bodywork is from a "can am xxxx" kit, definitely doesn't "gel" on the rear IMO.

There are NA 844's on CL here that are gorgeous, needing the usual mechanical stuff, for $1800 and they've been there for months.

I'm sure he loves that car, and someone will love it next, but you gotta be at least a little crazy to buy someone else's unfinished project. I'm sure if it ever gets done, it will be awesome.

God I love that front end! I think GT Racing makes one ... I wanted a complete front fiberglass clip where everything is together in 1 piece ... not very practical on the street probably

and why would you spend the $8k on a "ok" condition 951 or 968 ... if you could get a OBDI E36 M3 ...

If you like to wrench yourself and can paint it would probably be a fun track car.

Here are some of the other 944s on CL at the moment. I am so tempted to scoop up some of these...

If i had 4K i'd pick it up yesterday, there's a TON of work done to that, including what looks like a mostly completed (and at one time running) LT1 swap...honestly i'd be willing to pay 5K if i had it sitting around...there's a lot going on in that car, more potential than i think you guys realize.
