aftermarket gauges on stock senders?
i was wondering if it would be hard to install aftermarket gauges? the tach doesn't seem hard. and i'm not sure if you can use the stock sending unit for a speedo. i've also heard of some trouble installing fuel gauges on our cars. i have no idea how you would go about the temp, volts, and oil pressure.
would you have to wire them directly to the sensors/sending units, or can you use the existing wires that connect to the gauge cluster?
i think it would be nice to have the gauges where you want them, and have reliable lights

i just read a little, and the volts are easy too.
autometer has programmable fuel gauges, so i'll assume you can use the stock fuel sender on that too?
any thoughts?

Make sure when you order the gauges the fuel gauge runs on the same ohms that the car uses. That is the only one to be concerned with. Most likely the speedo will need to be calibrated by you,but it's easy and they should supply instructions for this.

According to clarkes garage a full tank reads 2.8 ohms and your tank at reserve should read 63.2 ohms, so i would say since no one offers a gauge that reads exactly 2.8 to 63.2 it would be 0-90 ohms. I believe i ended up ordering my gauge that read from 240 to 33 ohms, big mistake, and had to do a costly, custom fuel sending unit retrofit.
