Thanks for all the ideas!
I'am able to fight this but to get in court usually takes 6-18 months! And before a verdict is made, I'm afraid I won't be allound to drive again.
Sick system, but I'm probably better off just admitting. :-(
I'll definatly take the car to all the auto-x's and track events I can find!

PS: I have comprehensive coverage. My insurance would be $800/6 months for just liability.

I have an 86 944 turbo and a 98 Honda Accord (ex-v6) w/full coverage and an 88 prelude si with minimal coverage(meaning full +$500k per person, which I believe is higher than standard Allstate "highest" coverage), and I currently pay less than $700 every six months. My driving record is 3 pages long with 3 suspensions in the last 4 years. I'm 20 (about to turn 21). Is the difference really that big? Sorry to hear that, if this is indeed the case. I have a few things that help my rate, but you see my point...

I am in the 19-20 rating with $300k of coverage (max with state farm). I have a multi-car, multi-line, and good student discount. Like I said I have no accidents and no tickets. I have a $500 deductible. They just raised my rates to $1400/6 months.
If I didn't have the multi-car and multi-line discounts I would pay $1800/6 months. I have never quite figured out why insurance rates vary so drastically from state to state.
I am looking forward to turning 21 (I turned 20 today), then my rates will go down a bit.

I just checked. My rates will be cut in half when I turn 21!!! 25% off because I will be in the 21-24 category, and another 25% off because I will be in the 5-7 years of driving experience category.

In CA if you get three tickets they take your priveledge for 1 month. If you get four, they take it for a year. I have six and went to court the first time they took my license and got it back (lucky me), only to get another ticket three months later. Now the ticket is pending and I'm looking at At least a year with no license. So I hear ya, man. And by the way, I don't currently have a 951, but despite all my traffic troubles, I hope to still have one within the year.

Insurance rates? Yikes! You guys are paying a lot! I've got three cars under my policy (the 944S2, wife's Subbie SVX, and my Subbie Legacy) and pay around $1300.00 TOTAL a YEAR for full coverage on all vehicles.
I guess sometimes it pays to be old and crusty!

Also: check local auto clubs for autocross events in your area. I'm sure you can find something! (Or start a car club and start your own autocross season!)

Insurance is one issue- In Illinois insurance is mandatory- But I have to pay a premium of "uninsured motorists" this sux. I have to pay for the idiot who has no insurance when its the law??
About driving without a license- DONT!
The hazards are far more great of caught. I second, no third the idea- take it to a track.
6 Months may seem bad- but if caught driving on a suspended license here you will lose it for a full year. 3rd offense- 5 years loss of license and premanent probation. 4th offense- no license. period.
Good luck getting any insurance after getting nailed for driving on a suspended license. Its worse than a DUI according to the judges here.
If you hadnt have been speeding in the first place...
Ahh- hindsight is 20/20..
Drive safe. Drive sane. Drive smart. the "need for speed" should never occur on a public road.

i seem to have good luck with cops kuz i got cought at 120mph in a 65 on i-15 in vegas and cop had me call my friend, (who ran, and got away) and make him come back or i was going to jail and the helicopter was going after him, so he came back, he had $1500+ in fines for speeding, no registration, and somthing else, and i had 800 for speeding and weaving in and outta the lanes.
cop wrote me as 99/65 so it wouldnt be a felony, thank god.

it seems like it always comes down to money. if one has money (and a ****load of it) then one can always fight to drive (and commit murder), through spending disgusting amounts on either insurance or fines and/or both. no cash-money-bling equals loss of privileges (and loss of opportunity, for those where transport to get to and from work is crucial).
then we have the fact of the autobahn and with certain areas that are limit-free.. i am not naive enough to understand this is a nirvana, as there are still ****** that drive crazy and unsafe no matter when one lives, which became evident after a conversation with a guy from berlin and his brief story about some idiot in a Porsche-built M-B E500. but still... it's nice to drive 220kph and not feel paranoid about getting hauled off to jail (i've driven it once from Bonn to München and back).
if i'm going to get a one year suspension, i'm going to pay the fines, pack up my lame, unemployed *** and go live (and drive) somewhere else for a while and chill out.
just hope i can afford the petrol, a 1000 license and expensive freeway tolls. f&ck this ****..! i'm bitter...!

But I assure you it wasn't reckless driving in any way! Some people may think it's always reckless driving going 200 regardless of the circomstances but I guess those people just haven't tried a 951...
In some way, it's nice to hear I'm not the only one with out licence
Take care.... and look out for the you-know-who <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
