New or reconditioned water pump
Is it worth it to pay the higher price for a new water pump, or do most people use the reconditioned ones and have little trouble?
Prices for my 1991 944S2 are $139 reconditioned, $332 new.
thanks,
Bryan

Depends. I have no issues with reman pumps for my race car because I change them so often, like every couple of years or maybe 2500 track miles.
If I were putting it on my street car that I did not want to touch again for quite some time (ie, factory service interval) I would not cut corners and would buy a new pump.
If the pump fails then you would be regretting that saving <$200 would cost you $2K in repair bills.
