How do you what brand motor mounts you have? I have a set of all rubber ones I believe. I was told to not use anything but OEM as the aftermarket ones fail too soon.

If the MMs (motor mounts) you have are an unknown brand, did you buy them used?

Porsche MMs have a number molded in the rubber under the top mount (2 bolt holes) There will also be a triangle with a capital P inside

Deutsche Parts MMs look like all black rubber on the top mount---no numbers
These cost about $90 a pair new and will last 15-18 months.

I do not know about Rein, Meyle, Corteco, URO or others and what markings they have.

Here is what you have to know if your MMs are used. The measurement between top and bottom (flat) surfaces has to be between 65mm (used) to 70mm (new) when not installed.

Measure your MMs if they are used before you put them in.

Guys I just put some in today, numbers: 951.375.042.04
They looked like the one pictured in John_AZ's last post there.
They weren't expensive, but I hope they last longer than the ones I just took out: Two and a half years.
The ones I took out were solid rubber, no little silver 'bell' on top. My hood felt like it was going to rattle off when idling.
Just my 2 cents.

I can confirm now that Rein are 100% OEM mounts. Every machine mark is the same, and on one Rein \P/ sign is still partially visible. Also date of production is identical on same spot.

Those are not rein mounts, those are URO.

Rein mounts are identical to factory OE in every single detail.

Comparison between OE Porsche mount and Rein mount. (I painted OE black, stock is same color)

Most/all of the details found on these are different on other brand mounts.

Stock and Rein mounts have:

- square bolt section where it protrudes trough metal hat
- 4 double circular stamp marks on top of steel hat
- raised ventilation hole has stamping groove around it
- non raised ventilation hole is specific shape
- specific casting model and marks
- date of production is molded on top in right corner only

Looks to be the same those two.
Exactly how much can one save on using the rein mounts instead of the OE ones?

Mine are pretty shot and I'm fairly tired of getting massage every time I sit in my car when idling.

The Rein mounts were $120 each when i bought them back in 2011, so about half the cost of an OEM Porsche branded mount.

I thought Rein wasn't selling the mounts for the 944 any more?

I did the RS mounts. Love them. More good sounds in the cabin.
