Default Squire's 944 LS1 6.3L V8

Check out this beast from Squire's Autowerke! This is the nicest built swap I've seen. The attention to detail easily exceeds that of the factory.

Long known for making some of the fastest, most well prepared 911s in the country, it's exciting to see Squire is now building 944/951 V8 swaps. In my opinion, this is exactly what our community has needed; a reputable shop that can produce turn-key conversions.

This one started as a pristine '87 N/A. They added Moton suspension, 968 MO30 brakes/sways, electric brake booster, and a bored and stroked LS1.

Starting with an '02 LS1, Squire brought it up to 6.3 liters with the following:

Callies 4.00" stroke forged crank
Callies Compstar forged H-beam rods,
Mahle forged pistons
Blueprinted and balanced with a 10.5:1 CR.
243 ZO6 heads, ZO6 cam, and ZO6 intake

I bet I know who that is...

It's all relative, eh DVC?
Maybe I'm wrong...
EDIT: Nope, just found the site.
Thought so.

Clean car, nice RUFs.
Any chance they came from a silver N/A?

Another Renegade coffin nail.
Ahem, Ahem...

Probably amazing to drive, let alone look at.

Any idea on a final cost for the conversion?

edit I guess if you've got to ask, it's probably too much.

Nice outcome. I've always said that there needs to be a turn-key solution. Problem is, it's got to cost $30K+ over the core cost of the 944.

Do all accessories work? A/C, power steering?

Yes, they seamlessly integrated all of the GM accessories. This is a no-compromises swap, and weighs in at 2860lbs with a full tank of gas.

What's an electric brake booster?
With the V8 you loose the stock vacuum booster. Instead of half-assing the swap like most and running non-boosted brakes, Squire installed an abspowerbrake electric boosted system (http://www.abspowerbrake.com/index.html). Same concept Porsche used on the 964.

Up next is a wide body 951 with a Katech Track Attack LS7 swap.
