Difficulty shifting into reverse
Anybody ever have problems shifting into reverse? No problems with any other gears, only 10,000 miles on clutch. It feels like the linkage hits somthing very solid and it requires rocking the car a bit to get it to fall into place.

sometimes I'll have a tough time getting into reverse.
This is the only gear I'll have trouble with and it's a PITA sometimes, but it never didn't work. |
Try going into 1st gear, then reverse...

Also: what kinda of tranny oil are you using? If it's old, you can switch to a synthetic oil like Swepco makes. Works very, very well. Takes a little of the notchiness of the 1-2 shift away. -Z. |
I also have that problem sometimes. There is a reverse lockout that engages on our cars, i believe when you put it in 5th. If you come to a stop shifting into netural from a 5th(sometimes other higher gears too), the lockout is still in place and won't let you shift into reverse. First, i usually try putting it in 4th, which works most of the time. If not, i go all the way down to 1st. I learned this from a friend, and it seems to make sense. Good luck!
