Post replacing all weatherstripping as easy as hatchseal?

im considering replacing all the weatherstripping on my car now that i have done the rear hatch and it was so easy! 10 mins and a perfect seal! i was a little hesitant because i replaced all the stripping on my triumph a couple years ago and it was a nightmare...adhesives/incorrect lengths.... so who has done a complete reseal job...are all the seals as user freindly as the rear?

All the seals were pretty easy, except for the sunroof. I still don't have it right.

Make sure you remove the old adhesive on the door seals when you do it. If not, you have a pretty good chance of the seals peeling away when they get hot and stick to the body of the car.

Where do you get the weather stripping? Is it universal or do I have to get 944-specific stripping?

Paragon, go with OEM stuff if you want the seals to work properly.

The rear quarter windows would be real easy, I've done them both before. I've taken my sunroof one off, but didn't have any glue available, so it's just been pressed on there for a while now. Still seals alright, but I've gotta fix it when I get the chance (doesn't look right). The hardest one would have to be the doors. Can't picture them off hand, but it seems to me that it's a couple pieces.

Saur.,

I just did it. Sunroof is difficult to make the roof sit back down. In an evil way I'm kinda glad Perry is having the same problem b/c it lets me know I didn't do it wrong. Perry where did you get your sunroof seal, Vertex?

For the doors DO NOT BUY ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE DEALER'S (paragon uses dealer parts). I tried Vertex and found that they did not fit as well as the dealer's. Also, beaware that door rubber now only comes in the 968 version with a 944 part number. This means that the lip on top of your door is cut shorter than was originally installed on your door. Doesn't bother me but the guy working on my car doesn't like the newer look.

What other rubber pieces are you looking at? If your replacing yours I can guarantee you I've just done mine. For small pieces like under handles and mirrors the dealer is cheap and the best option.

I got all my seals from Paragon.. and it is the correct OEM 944 part number. I remember Jason87-924s having issues with his new seal as well, and over time, it settled into place. I have not messed with mine much since I installed it.

It is about 1/4" too high, so I may pull it back off and see what's up.

I did door seals too. I had to re-align the door to make the seals seat properly against the body. It kept folding near the front edge which is how the old seal got ruined.

Are you guys using a little adhesive on the door seals? My new ones want to shortcut the bottom corners so my solution is a little trim adhesive at these 2 spots.

I didn't use any but I had to remove alot of old adhesive. Should I be using adhesive?

ELLSSUU, I had the same problem. You don't have the door seal installed in the right place. There are raised curved sections along the bottom of the door. Make sure these align with the curved cut-outs on the door seal. I actually had a lot of trouble getting them installed correctly.

My nwe(er) door seals don't have any seal on them. In the corners there's a little L-shaped plastic piece that clamps it down in there though.

I am one more to add to the "sunroof seal wasn't quite right" group. After the new one was installed it took about 5 months for the seal to "seat" properly. Untill then, the roof was a real mother to put back in when I would remove it for warm-weather driving.

Figures. The sunroof is the only seal I really need. The seal along my passenger window (outside, along the bottom of the window) is loose -- is this included with the door seal? I haven't taken the door apart to check it out yet, but when I do my remote locks I'll get a better idea of whats up.
