Default Rear defogger help needed...

Recently purchased a 968... When I received the car, among other things, the rear defogger didn't work. After looking at a bunch of old threads about issues with the rear defogger circuit, I began troubleshooting the circuit. I found that when the switch is turned on I get about 12 volts on the driver's side of the circuit and 0 volts on the passenger side. I have continuity throughout the circuit and about 275 ohms across the defogger itself with the connectors on the lifts disconnected... Still no heat in the defogger when hooked back up... I am very frustrated!!!! Any ideas...

Thanks for your response!

you're getting no power to the passenger side, i'd say check the wiring to that side traced from the switch...not fun.

also how are the connectors, loose?

Thanks for your reply!

Clark's site says, ...if I read it right.., there shouldn't be any voltage on the passenger side.

With respect to the connectors, I get continuity from the base of the drivers side support strut connector to the passengers side strut shaft...

Check your struts... I bet you have no continuity in one or both struts... my 951 PS strut makes "intermittent" contact... a wire brush can make a world of difference...

Thanks for your reply...
I made 2 jumpers so that I could take out the struts out of the circuit completely and I still get nothing on the heating grid...except approx 12 volts on the driver's side...

Still frustrated!!!
