Gold 944 sighting in Lake Forest
Saw a nice gold (Kalahari Beige?) 944 with black-center wheels (Fuchs or cookie cutters...didn't look too closely) on Trabuco in Lake Forest. Gave the driver a big thumbs-up from my car (blue 944S2 w/ Fikses) which he returned with a smile. Was that anybody from Rennlist?

Did it look like this?

I do not know the official name of the colour, so if anyone does I would love to know.

I have seen the same car. I think the guy works at the corner of Jamboree and Barranca. I see his car everyday. John D should make a flyer we can print and stick on peoples cars.

i was thinking of the same idea. except, once i met an owner of an 86 951 who was a "one-owner" dude said he "didn't have time for things like that" when i asked him if he ever goes to any online forums, porsche related.
i will be getting some business cards printed up for as cheap as possible with some sort of saying on them... I always see people that I want to say hi and see what they dig.
any ideas?
for example:
<porsche logo>

Here is a site that will print you up 250 business cards for free you just have to pay for shipping. I will go in on it with you if you want.

My car is Kalahari Beige - that's the official color name. It's sort of like Artctic Silver with a hint of tan...literally a metallic beige. It's actually a pretty cool color - my car has original paint that has aged well (a lot of modern cars sport a similar color). Sometimes peple refer to this color as gold or champagne.
With regard to business cards, there's something to be said for designing and printing your own. you can get software for cheap (probably freeware) and buy the stock at your local office supply store - I use Avery "clean edge" card paper. The results are really great!

This post and the one from the guy parting out his 944 in Venice, CA tells me there are a lot more Southern California 944 guys around than I have heard from on Rennlist in the past.
We should get together some Saturday morning for breakfast/ogle each other's cars. Any interest?

Dan, I'd love to get together at some point. I know those of us in orange county are going to be getting a caravan going up to german autofest in ventura next month. If you're there I'm sure you would probably see us. Other than that go ahead and try and get something together. Basically if somebody sets a time and a place it would probably work out really well.
