Hesitation at 3800 RPM
My car hesitates around 3800 rmp (like a choking feeling) whenever I'm easy on the throttle (like trying to maintain steady speed). If I accelerate harder it runs smooth through the whole range. I thought it might need a tune up so I just did plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. No luck! I did a search for "3800 RPM" and got nothing useful. I swear I read a similar problem on a product page for some on-line company.
Does anybody have a suggestion as to what I should test/replace next???
TIA!
Dale.

i have kinda the oposite, if i am just accelerating a little bit its smooth. If i gun it though it starts to hesitate around 5000-5500.how do you tell if the rotor is bad or not when you take the cover off?

Thanks for the ideas guys. I think I'm going to go for a new TPS and see if that works. I found what I was looking for - Pelican Parts mentions poor performance at 3K as a symptom. Plus, I have a hesitation at WOT so I figure a TPS can't hurt.
Andre - my rotor was very discolored and just plain worn looking at the end (contact) when I replaced it.
Of course, any other opinions are always welcome.
