I know there is a porsche euro bumper without the long impact strip, I've seen it on a 951 before. I'd like to get one because my GT racing one will not be able to stand any impact.

Oh, wow... I like the GT catalog! Hmm... Might have to sucker my friend into getting one of those. I don't plan on getting rear-ended and I like the weight reduction between that and a steel piece!

My understanding is that to mount a euro bumper you have to elimate or at least collapse the rear shocks that mount the bumper. Won't you take the chance then of crumpling a rear quarter panel instead of having the impact absorbed by the shocks?

No one I know ever PLANS on getting rear-ended.

Well I'm not sure about the euro bumper or the GT-Racing bumper, but the IFC bumper that I have requires the shocks to be removed, and metal brackets are used in place where the shocks bolted on. I have this bumper on my "track car" that I only drive on the streets occasionally, so I'm not too worried about it.
