Default CR-1 Radio

Backlight on the display has gone out.
Anyone know if this can be repaired? Or is it time to trash it...

For the price of fixing it. you could buy a good aftermarket one.

Any recommended replacements - in keeping with the period - i.e. understated, not gawdy etc. I have a changer in the trunk - so don't need an in dash changer. I guess I can lose that cassette player the CR-1 has.

Thanks much...

ive installed in all of my cars Kenwood units. The look stock dont use the silver colors. I also have experience installing them they last a long time. you can get units ranging from the $100 to 250 i try to stay around the 150 range. What is your price range? Most have controllers for your trunk unit.
