I'm really curious what it weighs right now. It's only going to get heavier from here, but would be cool to know.

Good news about the brakes! We should get it registered (is it possible in this condition?) and drive the living crap out of it for a couple hours to make sure its good to go. And maybe do some autocrosses.

What do you think about trying some "no shift" laps at Nelson on the practice day? Just keep it in 3rd gear all the way around. Then we won't need to worry about the clutch, right?

Default NAME CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah TJ the mastercylinder is leaking into my driveway- luckily Andy is donating one supposedly. We will drive it Alan- just to decide when! WE really need some beer, i mean a team meeting.

oh and by the way- the car is registered and the name has been officially changed!!

DRAGON SOMETHIN' is the new official registered name. Seems funnier and more appropriate for the theme. Started looking at the requirements for the shut off switch today- Sammy's getting a better shut off switch since the one i bought is prone to failure! and its only a two pole.

Good luck with the Lemons. Being at Nelson's should be an absolute blast. I've got two coworkers that will be running Neons. They ran it last year on a little oval, but still had a blast. If its fun on an oval it should be magnitudes better on a real track, even if they chicane the back straight (as its rumored they will).

A few coworkers and I tried to put something together but have basically not gotten anywhere substantial and will most likely miss it this year. We all have our own ongoing projects. I'm going to try and make it down though to watch. Should be interesting.

There are going to be 3-4 chicanes, one on the front straight by the timing tower, one right before the carousel, one right after the carousel and probably one right before the kink. Top speeds are supposed to be around 70. A few weeks ago I ran what is going to be the course in my LeMon from last year and it was a pretty good setup. I predict cars getting rear ended slamming on the brakes for the chicane coming out of the carousel.

My advice to Dan and Andy, watch the suspension changes. Our car is going to be stock height, stock suspension, no Konis, pretty much completely stock so if they question any changes on your car they will probably use ours as a basis of comparison. Also, Jay Lamm hates suspension that you try to sneak past the judges. He penalized one 944 300 laps because they tried to run bilstiens....needless to say it finished dead last. Just giving my 2 cents. Good luck and call me if you need anything.

I have a spare set of semi used(there might be 70% there) pads, don't remember if they are for the front or back. I would have to check that. But, they are street compound.(might be good backup parts) I also may have something useable on this parts car i just bought but i'll have to defer till i tear into it.

FYI, i did two day's worth of HPDE(instructed driving) in my 85 944 at Mid Ohio and the street pads went Poof and my brand new cheep o street tires(general uhp's) went to goo. I replaced the pads wiith hawk blue's, which were $128 front and $124 for the rear and waiting to go to the next HPDE to see how different they are.

Since you are talking a lot of track laps, def high wear is a must. Maybe you could find some solid tires and then you could run em till they are to the rims : P

I think I have a pretty new set of pads of unknown origin laying about. I have calipers too.

Do you have a rear sway bar?

Thanks, Van. Do you know if they are track pads? Yes, I believe Dan has a rear sway bar for it.

Dan and Alan,

Just read this. Awesome. I wish I was closer to help you.

I do not have much in the way of extra parts, but if you are in need please PM me... If I have what you need they will be free to you.

Unknown - it was an early offset car that I parted. It appeared to have evidence that it had been tracked (it sat on 2 old hoosiers and had been well maintained - and it was an '83 with very clean brake fluid, meaning it had probably been changed regularly.)

Sounds good, we will need lots of tires and pads for sure.
