Yep, here's mod list
- Wössner 11.5:1 Pistons
- 944 Turbo forged rods
- 2.5ltr engine block with steel sleeves
- Balanced FW and crankS.
- vibration balancers removed from the engine
- Jenvey ITB's (Pipercross 4-1 foam filter, airbox was removed)
- Tatech 32Lite engine management
- Custom camshaft
- Some kind of afterm. exhaust manifold + exhaust, dunno what it is (from prev. owner)
- new fuel injectors, just because didn't want to use old ones..
- Adjustable cam gear
All things short - you can make lots of hp with good cam, ITB and adjustable engine management.
All extra stuff is for engine longeivity. without ITB I'd say you would get 183-185hp, ITB gives you an additional 10hp.
there might be still some hp's left in engine - who knows..

Hello Matti
I think you are right on the spot. about the 183 hp.
That is about the same number that i got. With 280* cam, Port job and some adjustments.
Regards Per

Discussed today with one race team mech. that has stock intake, but modded head + cam + engine mgmt. they've got 195hp, that's without ITB. Maybe head modding is for benefit too..`??
Measurement has been done in different dyno so dunno how comparable the results are though...

I cut my plenum chamber open. and spent 4 hours with a grinder.
The inside of the runners look like somthing casted in Russia, during the coold war ;-)
The runner for cyl. 1 has a very sharp turn. I cut it more open. And widened all the runners (1,5 mm.) and made them more conical.
At last i tig welded the plenumchamber back together.
My head modding was done after a weeks of surfing on the net, for Pictures of 8v heads.
The head casting is as bad as the intakemanifold. My head had a 1mm. offset, betwen valve seat and indtake. and the casting was wery rough.

Always nice to see what can be achieved Matti! We're hoping for about 700bhp from our 2.5ltr 8v @ 8000rpm. Always good to push the envelope. :-)

Sounds great man. I like your car.
Q: -What did you do to "plug" the bores after removing the balance shafts?
-Any chance you would be willing to share the part numbers of the ITB components you used?

there's always the 968 engine option.
but if you're going to go to that much trouble,
maybe just do like with the Chevy Veeega of old.....

Im just caching up but If we really did treat these cars like hondas there would be a big bottle of NOS in every one, as far as a 200 hp n/a thats probabablly the quickest (and cheapist in the short run) way to do it, pull a few degrees of timing and add 75 hp shot of Nitrous oxide
