Dropped the dirty old open diff trans in my 951 and installed semi solid mount in anticipation of the S2 Box with OS Giken LSD and cooler loop from flying horse motorsports. Damn Fedex said they had my package when it ended up sitting in a truck all weekend.

Wow! I've never seen such a nicely finished ceiling in a garage before!

got it 98% of the way back to stock in preparation for Smog test, then noticed my ~10 year old Rennbay fuel lines are cracked and rotted so need to come up with replacements before attempting to start.

I replaced ALL the under-manifold hoses and used lots of Oetiker clamps to make it permanent and professional (original) looking to the smog tech.

got it 100% back to stock for smog check hopefully this week.
said it 2 years ago, say it again now...damn the factory tune is good, very smooth driving.
dont get me wrong, my VEMS tune was spot-on too but that thing's got 20x the computing power and tunability as the stock DME, but stock is damn good.

haven't driven the thing in probably 3 months until today, drove like it was never parked.
though started running rough when i got home, i think my *original from 1984* spark plug wires were cross-talking a little...

Replaced my coolant lines and did an oil/filter change. Found out it was leaking a couple weeks ago when I pushed it back a few feet. Took it for the first drive of the year this weekend, running great!

Spencer, can your car pass the visual inspection with MAF in place of the AFM?
Just wondering. I have a friend that lives in CA. He had a 1971 corvette and he needed to find the "right guy" to pass him because of a missing air pump.

No.
Unless the MAF or whatever has a CARB EO# on it, everything has to look like it did the day the car rolled out of the factory.
100% stock visually, 100% stock tune, everything.

Re: your friend, that's weird because nothing pre-1976 needs to get smogged anymore (unless this was before ~2000 when they abandoned the rolling 25 year exemption?)

Yes, it was a long time ago.

Is the cam tower painted or powder coated? It looks nice.

Fixed the clunking passenger door...the "limiter" in the middle of the door jamb was missing a bolt in the door. Felt good to finally start crossing things off the project list!

Gave the rear hatch release mechanism a little TLC/clean up. For a while now the catch on one side has been popping open while driving… and when the other side started joining in last week so the hatch flew open on the road, I felt it was time to fix it.

So I took both sides apart, cleaned out the muck and dirt, rinsed both mechanisms in first warm water and then brake cleaner (as I couldn't open them up), stuffed some grease inside, and bolted them back on.

All good so far, will have to see if it stays shut for the next couple of hundred miles.

Thanks! It's just paint, I think it might be Duplicolor or something very similar to that from Autozone. If I had to do again, I would go with PC for durability. Although I have to admit the paint has held up pretty well. It's probably been on there for 10-12 years.
