Ignition Wires $200 !@#$#
I called my local pukeboys and they quoted me $225 for ignition wires.
So i searched online and found JC Whitney has some for like $18 a set. they're 8mm. Here's the link if anyone is interested.

While I certainly would not pay $200 for ignition wires (I remember getting the same line from the local Western Auto a couple of years ago), there might be a couple of quality issues to consider. Are they cut to the proper lengths for a 944? Will they fit properly in the head?
But, heck, for $18 bucks you have nothing to lose! Try them out. If they work fine, then you have just saved lots of $$$. If they don't work well, then you're only out $18.
FYI, I paid about $70 for a set of Magnecor wires. They fit perfectly and have worked very well.
Cheers,
Mark

You get what you pay for, Porsche wires use Beru connectors which are >$20 each. These connectors have a set amount of resistance built in to them but they use wire with little or no resistance, the result is that the short #1 wire and the long #4 wire have the same resistance. ALL wire sets that you see for under $100 are made by using cheap ends (with NO resistor) and cheap wire that HAS resistance, this resistance is measured in ohms per foot. The #4 wire is almost 3 times as long as the #1 wire so it will have almost 3 times the resistance...
That's OK, the #4 cylinder only needs 1/3 as much spark as the #1 since it's later in the firing order!
Try Paragon, Good wire sets WITH BERU ENDS ~$140.
BTW, Ignition upgrades (like an MSD) require better than stock wires.

I made my own from a set of Moroso 10 mm wires that were a universal set. The terminals all fit fine.My car had jacobs on it when I bought it but they were melted in the engine fire. I had four wires left from one of midget motors so I cut them and terminated them for the 951. Total investment about 20 bucks and a hour of labor. But nobody makes a wire better than what I now have!

I put Jacobs wires on my car over two years ago, look good, work fine, cost less than $100. Only complaint is the shortest wire (the plug closest to the radiator) is way too long, I just put a loop in it and wire tied it. I think they were $50-$75 range.

I will have to agree with dave. I bought the "german" wires made by Karlyn-STI sold by PartsWerks. Paid $89.99 on ebay... Junk junk junk! The connectors are a hard plastic and brittle when I was installing them one of the connectors actually snapped. I did not even use that much pressure. I bought the Nology wires around $2xx (not expecting performance gains) But they are a very well made wire comparing the two side by side is a joke. Dave you are right you get what you pay for!

These are factory BERU wires that we sell for under $100.00
http://www.944racing.com/Search/ViewDetails.asp?PartNumber=944.609.015.90&Model=&CarYear=&NumberType=OEM &hidSearchType=Main
I personally run the Nology wires and am very happy with them. They use the BERU connectors so you are assured of a correct fit for the 944's. We sell them for $159

If I use NGK BPR7ES spark plugs (resistor plugs) how is that any different? Looks like a good quality wire and I'll have resistors but they will be in my spark plugs instead of the plug wires.
