My name is Carl Fausett and we are a Rennlist sponsor.

Our company, 928 Motorsports LLC, is one of the Big 3 in the 928 world, where we have developed supercharger kits for every year and model of Porsche 928, among others.

We have acquired a 1994 Porsche 968 with the intention of developing a supercharger kit for the 968 - pictures below.

I would like to invite the members of the 968 Forum to provide some input during the design phase if you wish.

I can tell you that our design objectives already include the following:
a) it will be an externally mounted bolt-on kit
b) it will not require disassembly of the engine to install
c) the Air Conditioner will remain in place and functioning
d) the polution control equipment will remain in place and functioning

The first kit will be Stage 1 (non-intercooled) but designed with an eye for the Stage 2 kit (intercooled) to follow as an upgrade.

If you have any ideas or suggestions, feel free to post them here. I listen well. That's not to say every suggestion will make the kit (that isn't possible) but good suggestions just may at that.

Also tell me what does or doesn't work (if you know) as I expect a few 968's have been fitted with centrifugal superchargers by private parties already.

I'm enjoying driving the 968 at the moment, nice car! It is scheduled into our shop on March 20th to begin the development of the kit.

Hi Carl...great stuff. I look forward to seeing what this is going to become. I am placing a 968 motor into a 944 S2 at the moment. I will be interested in seeing what becomes of this.

Man, i wish the stupid 944 N/A had a bolt on supercharger kit which allowed you to keep the A/C.

We have been contacted quite a few times over the years to make a SC kit for the 944, but just could not justify it as there were already 3 kits available on the market. I think 1 is now gone but there should be 2 suppliers left. Unfortunately, from what I understand they both require removal of the AC as they place the SC head unit in that location.

Anyway - we are commited to this 968 development, so depending on backwards-compatability there may be some retro-fitting our kit onto the 944 S2 or 944.

Thanks for the reply. Keeping the A/C for the 944 8V engine is a must for me, but after most things considered, an engine swap is really the best way to go.

How different would an S2 kit be from the 968 kit? What in particular would need to be changed?

Could be a nice upgrade -- although the mind boggles trying to figure out where you'd fit anything additional in an S2 engine bay...

You should get some advice from rennlister darthcoupe. He has a supercharged 968.

I use Thomas Knight Supercharger and it works fine. You can keep the AC but in my case, I chose to remove it...

Tell me more! A supercharger which allows to keep the a/c? Any more info on this? Pictures?
