Kinda OT, 911 into VW bug?
What do you guys think? a 911 engine into a VW bug...is it possible?i know anything is possible but i mean realisticly....the bug(old bug) was made by porsche so it should have the same design pretty much as a 70s 911 right?we took my friends beat up old bug for a ride today and it just popped into my head...

this was in a recent issue of 911& porsche world, the issue with the white S2 on the cover I believe, or else my magazines are mixed up.

soo....what did this article say?

It has been done before, but I don't know the details. Keep in mind that the beetle was designed by Dr. Porsche 10 years before the 356 was designed.
|
It has been done - 3.3 Turbo floorpan grafted onto 1950 Beetle - turbo suspension, brakes etc. VW transporters and buses have also been given the 911 treatment - check out Volks custom mags, they are littered with this sort of thing. Scary

this is a 72 vw, and how about older 911 engines....are they attainable for not too much dough?or are they incredably overpriced? not looking for like a 996tt engine, just something with around 150-175 hp, should boost the bug intensly, thing weighs like 3 pounds

I used to know a guy that had a bug with an airplane engine. The thing turned around 10-12k rpm!!!!! It was absolutly the loudest car I've ever heard! Waaaaaaaaaaay FAST!!!!!!

I got past by a late 60's style doin' a WHEELIE
|
hahahaha i dont think i have the expertees or the means to put an airplane engine in....but putting an old 911 engine+tranny in would be an awesome summer project
