Re-crimping radiator - will it really work?
I have a radiator leaking (again). I replaced one on my NA earlier this year with a used one, only to find that it leaked even worse than my original. So that was my first new radiator. Today I find my turbo is leaking in exactly the same spot - high up on the drivers side.
Some of you have mentioned that you re-crimped that seal successfully. Is this a good fix or a temporary kludge? Bruce

It could well be more than a crimp problem. I had 3 rads leak in that area because of cracking in the plastic right at the corner of the plastic flange that gets crimped. If you could buy a new header and gasket, a fix might be possible repair. I never was able to find a source and finally paid about 2x the stock rad price for a copper & brass unit that Performance Products was selling (this was several years and many miles ago). It was worth it and can be repaired.

I had a leak from the upper driver side too. What happened was one of the bottom rubber mounts had fallen off and caused stress on the plastic. A new used radiator was $100 from parts heaven and a few more $ for replacement rubber mounts solved my problem. Make sure you are not missing any mounts.

same leak here, same area, and when i attempted to recrimp, it showed the cracks along the radius to the flange better.
i bought a porsche one from vertex for 229 i think.
