I did mine over a year ago. So far it has held up pretty well. The car sits outside 24/7/365. The only problem has been a chip on the hood due to some highway debris. I sprayed the thinned rustoleum on with a black and decker electric paint gun lol.

i started mine today, got two coats on, will be continuing the project over the next week to finish it...and to the above comment of opening up the car and seeing it's two toned, i'm planning on pulling most of my interior and engine eventually anyways, might as well replace the seals and repaint it while i'm at it! It's surprising what you can do with something like this just because of the relative lack of prep needed, when you're spraying it takes a TON of masking, whereas this is a rather small job comparatively

Just my 2c

Please...because you're so old and wise? By the way you act on here, I'd say you're in your very early 20s. If you are older than this, I suggest not admitting to it.

guys...seriously, you're acting like the people in my class. that is 17 year old seniors in high school.....no offense meant but getting into a spitting match over the internet is like pissing into the wind, just not worth your time and you're going to end up getting wet no matter what.

Please keep it civil, i understand the urge to express your opinions, but you can do that without coming off arrogant or cruel, the easiest way being simply stating that it is just your opinion, like this is just mine.

Not everyone is made of money, so yes money has a big role in any mods to a car.

Why would you not spend $50 to turn a car like this:

to this:

I'd say it's one of the best mods I've done. No reason in spending money on a paint job that would cost more than the car in my eyes.

Exactly.

You see cars around that are so badly oxidized or have just primer and how bad they look, would that honestly be better than spending a few bucks a afternoons to get a "decent" paintjob?

Don't go lower than 800 grit for prep or smoothing between coats, then 1500-2000 grit for wet sanding the finished product....make sure to get water proof (will say on package it can be used wet or dry) or you will end up with a mess, also make sure to wetsand with lots of water, you cannot use too much water, but you can definitely use too little... Good luck, and make sure you post pictures...Anyone who doesn't like your method or agree with your approach isn't worth responding to, opinions are like A**holes, everyone has one and noone thinks their own stinks...
