Default what about heat

How will the plastic stand up to the heat put out by the halogen bulbs? Has this been tested? They get quite hot you know?

Not to throw a monkeywrench in, but I'm just wondering...

Actually there are some nice kits from Caswell and Eastwood for about $20. I talking about 951 fogs and there's no option for the Lexan yet.

Can my pitted windshield also be polished?

I would think some hi-temp silicone would work for gluing in the new lenses, but that's mostly an educated guess.

Does anyone have any experience with these lexan fog lamp lenses? I'm thinking about getting a set and then getting some LED bulbs to keep the heat down. Updated link is http://www.automotion.com/fog-light-...1983-1989.html

is that just the glass piece or the glass+plastic?

Aivar88..I am working on something currently you may be interested in, but won't have updates for another week or so.
I will update this thread or make a new one when details are ready.

It is just the lens, you have to remove the cracked glass from the plastic frame, then bond the new lexan lens. I can't believe nobody has tried these, seems like a great alternative to the glass ones that get cracked so easily.

I've had a set on my car for several years now. They work just fine. I removed the old lens (one was busted from stone debris) and used a simple seam sealer to glue in the lexan lens. Easypeasy. They will eventually dull just like modern plastic lensed cars. Sand blasting from the roads is still sandblasting.

Cheers!
