Default Rear quarter panel removal, how to?

Search turned up very little, only to cut the spot welds. Does anyone have pics or a description as to where all the welds are? Is there any information out there that would enable someone to DIY? Or is this not a DIY type of project for someone with no body repair experience? I do have a welding pro at my disposal for reinstall of a donor panel (speaking of which -- does anyone in WNY have a right rear quarter on a parts car they don't need?)

TIA

Well now, I won't lie...that thought has crossed my mind.

Regardless of which way I proceed, I still need info on how to get the factory panel off.

This is close, although he cut the c pillar instead of going all the way to the roof.
If you have a damaged panel you might want to just cut out the damaged piece and replace it.

Thanks Kurt. At least that shows what it looks like underneath. All the damage is below the bend, so I may have a body shop look at it to see if they can bang it back out, although the lower section is pretty messed up. Grafting a new lower section on might be feasible too, thanks for that suggestion.

What a PITA.

Wise guy.

Actually, those might work! I've got an appointment later this week at a body shop to see if it can be salvaged or if it definitely needs to be replaced.

IMO not DIY with no experience friendly to remove this panel.

Can't it be fixed?

ouch.

The term "that'll buff right out" won't apply here. I assume this is a track car, so Bondo is out. If the quarter is good from the flare on up, I'd be tempted to cut out the damage and weld in a "repair" panel from a parts car.

Burma, what do you think?
