Clutch fork question
My clutch fork pin fell out a while back and I bought a new one and stuck it in. Apparently the clutch fork slid off of the throw out bearing. What's the best way to line it back up? Please tell me I'm not going to have to pull the bell housing. Anyone have any bright ideas? TIA!

Michelle,
Since nobody else responded you have to take the advice of an idiot. You can install it pretty easily from outside the bellhousing and I have done it before.
1. Remove the slave
2. Clamp the cup area with a pair of vise grips so you can maneuver it around
3. Make sure there are no burrs at the end of the shaft or hand file a very slight chamfer at the end to help as a guide. Scribe a mark on the tapped end of the shaft perpendicular to the flat spot on the shaft. Make sure both fork fingers are engaged behind the TO bearing. Apply some grease to the interior end.
4. Slide the shaft up with the flat spot facing the lock bolt
5. Once the 1st bearing is aligned a bit of tapping is all that's needed to reach the 2nd bearing and it will self align pretty well. You can feel when it starts to line up.
6. From there just keep tapping until the shaft is flush with the bellhousing and make sure the flat spot on the shaft is really square with the lock bolt. Put Loctite on the bolt to prevent having to do it again.
Hope this helps
