Default Turbo badges

I know this is more of an off topic thread, but.......

Why do people put turbo badges on NA cars?

I stopped to look at a 944 for sale that my dad told me about that was a turbo.

The car even had a turbo gauge cluster in the car, read it had a boost gauge.

So before I called the guy out, I asked what happened to the brembo brakes with porsche on them, the 16" wheels, it was currently riding on 15's and the turbo front end?

He just looked at me like WTF? After talking with the guy, I really think he bought the car thinking it was a turbo. I say this because after popping the hood, and showing him where the turbo should be he replied, it has to be in here somewhere, because it is a custom job.

On that note I said thanks for your time and good luck and if he would drop his asking price by about $5500 here's my card and to give me a call.

When it was all said and done with I actually felt bad for the guy and wasn't too pissed off that I wasted my time.

Later
Tom

what if it was a callaway turbo and u didnt know O:

lol...people figure that the turbo badge adds HP. i was at ricerzone a few weeks ago and in their bling aisle there is a stickon 'turbo' badge in the exact same script as the porsche version.

Yeah, unfortunately the same type of people that put a Mustang logo and a loud exhaust fixture on their Escort have access to these cars as well.

There's a body mod & rim shop near me that has a Fiero out front... with phony side air intakes and a Ferrari logo on the hood.

Definitely not a callaway but good guess.

I didn't look in the back, maybe its a STS turbo setup, but I doubt it.
