Do you have the cage welded into the joint of the firewall & windshield frame? How about into the top of the windshield? Both of those (easy for me to say) simple welds should stiffen things up a bit.
I'm not surprised that it's not TOO weak... it now probably has more rigidity to it than a 944 cab, but no reason to make it any weaker than it needs to be.
Now I want one
hmm... you should enter that into the 24hrs of lemons!

The 944 cabbys were beefed up quite a bit actually.
There are chassis re-inforcement plates all over the place. The floor pans were also doubled up.
If youve been in a 944 cabrio, youll find that there is surprisingly less foot space than a 944 coupe.
They loaded those things down with armor.

If the cage is welded to the windshield, wouldn't it cause the windshield to crack if there is too much flex?
Now onto the good. This is f'n bad-***. I'd put a hood on it, find some way to mount some 4x4 pocket flares or some kinda flare, and run the **** out of it. If it were not for the ground clearance issues, I'd find me some mud too. Keep it up! buy far the most interesting thing I have seen on here in 3 months. Short of V2's post count that is.

Having the bars across the corners off the two hoops would make getting in and out much more of a PITA. It would change from essentially being able to step in and out of it to having to sort of fall out the side.

This thing is great...and you move quickly--there's an update almost every day. I'll cast another vote for more flat black, and another request for some youtube vids. Keep it up and thanks for sharing.

That thing looks awesome! The front end looks alot like like a 911 slant nose. Maybe some sheetmetal to make it look like one?? in flat black of course. Looks like fun.
Makes me wanna buy one and make a sand/trail buggy out of it for driving the dirt near my house.
Wonder if Kalifornia will allow that to be street legal....I've seen dune buggies with less on the road....
